Low-carbohydrate diet may be the best choice for helping people lower their blood pressure.

In a recent study, researchers say a low-carbohydrate diet was as effective at helping people lose weight.

Study found that people who were on the low-carb diet were more successful at lowering their blood pressure than those following the other diet.

Saturated Fat Not Linked to Heart Disease: Study

A meta-analysis of 21 studies on 347,747 healthy adults suggests that dietary saturated fat is not linked to cardiovascular disease or stroke.

Those who consumed the most saturated fat were not more likely to develop heart disease than their peers.

The study’s authors say that further studies are needed to determine if heart disease risks are possibly influenced by nutrients used to replace saturated fat

¬†Campbell’s is revamping all the recipe for its over 100 products by cutting down sodium from 25% to 50%.

Products can received recipe overhaul are SpaghettiOs, soups, V8 juices, Prego sauces and Pepperidge Farm breads.

Healthy canned foods are available on shelves starting between April to  June, 2010.

Sean Connolly, president of Campbell’s U.S. soups, sauces and beverages, said changing the recipes is one way the company is promoting helath awareness.

Who know that drinking soup could help you to lose weight?

Researchers in Great Britain say that eating soup–rather than a solid meal plus a drink–may help dieters lose weight.

How?

It has something to do with the way our stomach handles water.

When water and solids are blended together into a soup the whole mixture stays in the stomach, and people feel fuller for longer.

When you feel full, the body has slowed the production of ghrelin, the hunger hormone, and people tend to eat less overall which can lead to weight loss.

U.S. Chain Restaurants to Disclose Calories on Menu

Large U.S. chain restaurants agreed on Wednesday to support legislation that would require them to disclose calories on their menus.

The menu labeling law could be included in health reform legislation expected to be discussed in Congress during the next few weeks.

A nationwide system would create a level playing field for all restaurants and better protect them from frivolous lawsuits, the restaurant association said.

Attempts to pass labeling laws since 2003 have stalled several times because of opposition by the Republican leadership and business groups.

National Donut Day is on the first Friday of June each year, celebrated in United States of America a.k.a the World’s Obese Nation. Many American doughnut stores offer free doughnuts on National Doughnut Day.

National Doughnut Day started in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Chicago Salvation Army. Their goal was to help the needy during the Great Depression, and to honor the Salvation Army “Lassies” of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers behind the front lines in France.
