Heartburn: How to End It

Ever feel that painful and burning sensation down your throat while eating?

If you answer yes, then you may have a heartburn.

The pain often rises in the chest and may radiate to the neck, throat, or angle of the jaw. Sometimes you cough so bad you even think that you have lost your voice.

Heartburn usually result from excess acidiity in the stomach. When we eat, from our mouth, the food enters into our stomach  through a muscle tunnel called esophagus.

It can happen that the muscle malfunctions. The contents of the stomach rise up back to esophagus and cause irritation on that area. Hence the painful experience you get with heartburn.

Avoid eathing foods that causes heartburn. Acidic foods like lemon, citrus and lime. Spicy foods like chillie and peppers.

Mind that fatty foods, pretzels, coffee, tea, onions, peppermint, chocolate can cause heartburn too.

Eating a big meal causes excess stomach acid production, and attacks can be minimized by eating small frequent meals instead of large meals especially for dinner.
